Thermal Imaging

Property One offer the latest and most affordable Thermal Imaging services available today, fist let us tell you a little more about what is involved.

Thermography is the use of an infrared imaging and measurement camera to "see" and "measure " thermal energy emitted from an object.

Thermal, or infrared energy, is light that is not visible because its wavelength is too long to be detected by the human eye; it's the part of the electromagnetic spectrum that we perceive as heat. Unlike visible light, in the infrared world, everything with a temperature above absolute zero emits heat. Even very cold objects, like ice cubes, emit infrared. The higher the object's temperature, the greater the IR radiation emitted. Infrared allows us to see what our eyes cannot.

Infrared thermography cameras produce images of invisible infrared or "heat" radiation and provide precise non-contact temperature measurement capabilities. Nearly everything gets hot before it fails, making infrared cameras extremely cost-effective, valuable diagnostic tools in many diverse applications. And as industry strives to improve manufacturing efficiencies, manage energy, improve product quality, and enhance worker safety, new applications for infrared cameras continually emerge.

Property One are one of only a few companies in central Scotland offering this service today.  We use fully trained Thermacam operatives and the latest thermal imaging cameras and software and can travel throughout the country depending on the work you require.  Thermography has in recent times been an extremely expensive service but as technology develops the price is gradually reducing and we aim to pass this directly to our clients - you may find it costs less than you expect!

How thermal imaging can help new home owners

With the ever rising costs of heating our homes we need to be sure that they are properly insulated.  If they are not, you may likely end up with a cold home and rising gas and electricity bills trying to make up for the loss of insulation.

Not a good situation…particularly when you have paid a lot of money for your new build home, there is an answer however.

Under current UK law, house builders have a legal obligation to repair any defects in your home within the first two years.   This is not restricted to just insulation however, any warranted defects must be put right.  This is enforced through the NHBC (National House Building Council) who can assist you in if required.

By carrying out a simple Thermal Imaging survey of your home we can identify areas within the walls or ceilings that would indicate missing or no insulation.

It is your legal right to have defects repaired free of charge within the first two years.

Our Thermal Survey is inexpensive and will take approximately one hour.  We will provide a detailed report to support your claim which will include:

·          Thermal Images

·          Comparative ‘real time’ images

·          Temperature differences

·          Suspected cause of cold spots

We can also check your home electrics including light fittings and electricity board to ensure there is no over loaded electrical connections which could potentially prove harmful.

If you contact us we will send you an info card with more information, pricing and images of the type of results that can be found.
